In Feb 2019, photographers from across the globe gathered at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, CA, for Photo Native—a three-day weekend dedicated to the art of analog film photography, creative exploration, and meaningful connection.
As attendees immersed themselves in workshops, styled shoots, and mentorship sessions, Desert Luna was thrilled to add a touch of fun and spontaneity to the event with our photo booth experiences.

A Weekend Rooted in Creativity
Photo Native 2019 celebrated the magic of analog film and the power of community. Photographers explored the sun-soaked desert surroundings, capturing artful moments on film during styled shoots that ranged from dreamy bohemian setups to high-contrast, modern editorials. Between the shoots, attendees dove into learning opportunities with industry mentors who offered insights into mastering film photography and building thriving businesses.
We were honored to bring our photo booth to this vibrant weekend! From the very first night, we helped kick off the festivities with a playful twist.
Night One: Opening Night & S’mores
The weekend began with an opening night gathering where the warm glow of fire pits and the aroma of s’mores set a cozy tone. Attendees mingled under the desert sky, sharing stories and getting to know one another. Our photo booth was a hit, offering attendees a chance to loosen up and capture silly, lighthearted memories with friends new and old.

Night Two: The Party at the Commune
The excitement continued on night two with a lively party at The Commune, one of the Ace Hotel’s iconic spaces.
The event featured music, dancing, and even a creative vision board station where attendees could dream big and map out their goals.

Our photo booth was in full swing, giving photographers a break from behind the lens to step into the spotlight for fun, candid moments. Whether it was solo shots, group poses, or goofy props, the booth was a favorite spot for capturing carefree vibes amidst the creative energy.

Photo Native wasn’t just about perfecting the art of photography—it was about creating an environment where photographers could connect, collaborate, and recharge. The weekend’s events, from the educational sessions to the s’mores and dance parties, struck the perfect balance of work and play.
Our photo booth added a unique layer to the experience, giving attendees a chance to relax and take home instant keepsakes from a weekend they’d never forget. For us at Desert Luna Photo Booths, it was a joy to be part of such a dynamic and creative event.
The Magic of Photo Native
As the weekend came to a close, photographers left Photo Native with rolls of film ready to develop, notebooks filled with tips and inspiration, and a collection of photo booth prints that captured the laughter and camaraderie of the event.
At Desert Luna, we believe in creating spaces where people can connect, share joy, and celebrate creativity—and Photo Native 2019 was exactly that.
